Robert Gempeler is a partner at Kunzler Needham Hilton, where he focuses on patent drafting and prosecution, as well as a broad range of intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing. He represents clients across diverse technology sectors, including software and hardware systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, networking, mobile technologies, cryptography, quantum computing, internet technologies, outdoor-related innovations, and mechanical systems.
With a background in both law and engineering, Robert brings a practical, business-minded approach to intellectual property strategy. He earned his law degree magna cum laude from Brigham Young University, where he served as a Senior Editor on multiple law reviews, and holds both an MBA and a degree in Computer Science. Before becoming a patent attorney, Robert worked as a software engineer, giving him firsthand experience with the challenges innovators face.
